Saluki X: The Eclipse
I created the soundtrack for the video game, “Saluki X: The Eclipse” as part of the class RTD 489: Electronic Media Workshop and MCMA 543: Media Arts Studio Seminar classes Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. This game and score were made in celebration of the eclipse on April 8th, 2024 for which the City of Carbondale, IL was within the path of totality. For the score, I was heavily inspired by classic 8bit and 16bit soundtracks to platformers in the use of digital synthesizers within Logic Pro. I also turned photographs of a partial and full eclipse into sound by importing the raw data into audacity then converted the audio into midi data to be used with some of these digital synthesizers.
In addition to the score, I also helped lead the design on the Thompson Woods level of the game which was created within the Unity game engine with pixel art made with Piskel.
